Dude, Where's My Board!

sunny

An Ode to Camping by Boyana Kramer:

"Oh, never such a wonderful night have I had by my betrothed at Camping Nogopia,
How wonderful to find such a lovely nest. let us just peek yonder the corner ! Ooohh, an even lovelier patch there lays yonder on the beach......"

Admittedly its a great place on a Sandy beach.......and we are both very happy at our new hotel. Camping was fun though :)

And a bigger surprise this morning. The wind picked up. On your kite then! Down-wind we go.

This totally set the mood for the rest of the day for us!

Then I dropped my board.

Up and Down we searched. At a little port we hitched a ride with a local fisherman on his boat for an hour looking out at sea. We definitely made his day. It was quite a sight! B and I stuffed into a little boat with Hercules and his wife Elena with the odd shriek from B when we got sprayed by the water.

If the board makes it to Cape Town please send it back - we want to do more.

In the late evening we had a tennis knock about. B kicked my goat ( there were two goats tied up next to the tennis court) And a sweet young girl spontaneously took up her ball-boy position just like on TV.

Tomorrows my B-day and its going to be awesome!

The Safas Go Camping

First the World Cup 2010; Now This!

The Kramers Go Camping!

There are certain assertions we can confirm!

1. Shaun setup the tent all by himself!
2. The indoor toillets do flush.
3. There is no such thing as a Mediterranean Lion
4. Blow up mattresses are cool and comfy
5. It is cold at night in May on Crete in a tent ( bring two and not one sleeping bag to share)

All in all a great experience and we are going to do this some time in a couple of months when its warmer.

Paros in the Morning And Syros in the Evening- Onto Athens

sunny 18 °C

Onto Paros we must go and rent another bike to ride to Parikea, the quaint port town where tourists such as us dare ride through its Baroque-lined-streets. Honestly it was a wrong turn and of all people whom do we ride straight into but our own group and their Tour Guide who was relieved when we asked the way out.

A quick stop to Pounda beach where the 2005 Kitesurfing champs were held to meet George ( in case we ever come back ) and back onboard we set sail to Syros.

Syros is our host for the evening and night. It is the Capital of Cyclades Islands and an island not dependent on tourists. Its very similar to Rome. I go for a run up to the top Cathedral and we meet to stroll around before heading back on board for the Captains Farewell Dinner ( and David's Surprise B-day too)

In the morning we leave via Sounion to finish at the start, s- Marina Zea where we catchup on some sightseeing.....but that's for tomorrows blog.

See the itinerary of this trip, and details about each destination.

Mykonos on the 10th of May

Come On Summer!

sunny 7 °C

Arrive and we are off To Delos -birth place of the Greeek Gods for a quick visit.

Back on Mykonos, we meander up and down windy narrow roads on our Bike through homely settlement with stone perimeter walls until miles away we find fantastic sandy beaches with Super Clubs
awaiting the season to bring in the Ibiza and Aya Napa crowds for the revellers. At them moment its a good place to be here.

Evening finds us Strolling through the Venetian Quarter's beautiful art shops before heading over to dinner at a Taverna on the beach.
We met up with friends from Galilio for a lovely evening before heading back on board.
