Ios to the Top

Wonderful

sunny 18 °C

We Hike right to the top with the group passing clean white and blue narrow streets, homes and houses separated half way up only by Irish Clubs and bars and then just the stones and white washes all the characterful way up.

The Saturn Sunset was amazing as was the walk back - the ambience was fantastic and we are lucky to miss the season of parties to really appreciate it all.

The Kramers meet Galileo

Boarded just in time for a luxurious and unexpected nightcap

sunny 20 °C

We are excited to get on our cruise and receive god's gift of 7 days residence in the same place, but even better to be on board a lovely vessel with the promise of better weather. Come On Summer!

First Stop is Poros - a small island near to the mainland where they happen to be having a Super Yacht show for only those in the Chartering industry.

And of course being somewhat of a Property Brokers ourselves we manage to get on board one, have an Ouzo and Chivas with the owner and be on our merry way. Seriously if Any of you have a spare 100 Million Rands or three lying around we can talk.

A Sunny Morning Breaks and we leave port to Methana, where B and I go for a jog, and a pleasant walk. This place is very queit.

Back on Board a delicious lunch and desert we embark for Aegina, our next stop.

Athens - Amongst Friends -

A Formidably Great City in every way with an exaggerated traffic problem

overcast 17 °C

Well we are happy to be here..... Check in to our hotel. And have alot of fun meeting up with an old friend Demos and Paris who show us some sights
around the main square in town called Syntagma.

At about 2 AM we decide to finally eat some dinner and grab a quickie at EverRest. Thanks Guys, food was very welcome.

The following day rain almost "peed on our parade" but we scoffed at the elements and the traffic, found the perfect parking and explored the New and Amazing Acropolis Museum, before taking a walk up to the Real Thing.
Here's the link to their website if you like to see

Our Greek friends - so every true and hospitable treated us to a walk on the beach promenade, snacks and sweet crepes - very sweet they were - thanks.

Tomorrow We are Off on our Cruise....

Volos Port on the Sea to Portaria in the Mountains

No Detractions from the Stunning Spa compliments of the hotel; And for Desert a Pretty Town in the Mountains

overcast 18 °C

A Short Entry Today courtesy of Sony Vaios dubious battery life!

Firstly. Volos on the night of the 3rd was just what the Travel Dr. Ordered - a good rest, with a Spa ( jacuzzi and hammam - compliments of the hotel)

Volos has the oldest Acropolis in Greece, but we chose to drive up the Mountain to Portaria instead which reminds me a little of Tuscany. We would love to come back some day. Its 700m up with panoramic views of the bays and we imagine peoples of devout faiths walking around here, working the lands, praying; as well as retired rich people retiring here and the last thought was how much it would suck to have to cycle up to the towns high up in the hill!

All in all a great day, Athens here we come.
