Great Place, what a nice surprise! Good vibe and a market in Summer that brings out the local wine producers and foodies and music makers. Buy a Carnet of tickets and get your glass and have fun. We rambled through the botanical garden too no Rhinos or Lions, just not the same as africa.

There we were, are and going.......

This is a little bit of summer catchup spanning miles and smiles from Turkey, to Belgrade. A hint of Croatia, Italy and onto stunning South of France.

sunny 26 °C

Can't believe its been so long since our last entry - though allot has happened.

Our trip back from Turkey was long and arduous, especially for my accelerator foot which is developing RSI way too quickly. I am toying with either letting Boyana drive, or crossing my legs and using my left foot. After letting B drive, I elected to sacrifice the foot and take up steerage once more.

Nis:
A city lying south of Belgrade noted for good braais, a lovely park and a Shull thats a museum - and a concentration camp memorial.

Belgrade:
A great city in Summer. Home of Nole Djokovic, tennis superstar; and great people and food. Though like any large city it can, at times -be seriously crazy.
We spent most of our time visiting family and friends.

Now and here:
Spectacular places attract attention!
We stopped briefly on Monaco's top road. Our noses' wanted to jump right in. We hung around just long enough time to imagine ourselves coverting with the rich and famous, winning on the Poker Tables and living Tax Free. It was Friday and the weekend of the Royal Grimaldi wedding.
The bride marrying our Charlene ( South African olympic swimmer). The Groom. A Gay boy unable to publicly be accepted as such.
For a brief moment we considered playing the role of "I am here for my cuzzy Charlenes' wedding" to get into the Royal Wedding, BUut we had run out of space in our wagon.

Saint Tropez:
Made famous after Brigitte Bardot's 1956 film And " God Created Woman " the rich and famous flocked here; it seems they stopped doing so about 10 years back until fairly recently when New Money entered looking to show off the pretty young things and super yachts ( and chilled Vodkas) .
Its prestine beauty here with too many crowds for our liking - but a super experience.

The Turkuaz Coast

Blue Voyages, Hammams and Doner Kebabs

sunny 28 °C

Hello All, its been a while but we are having fun, relaxing, doing a bit of remote work and waiting for the Wind to pickup.

The trip has consisted mostly around my wanting to Kite, and B wanting to see some sights and museums, and souvenirs which works out great, . Although many of the regions are vastly different and spread out far and wide with very little in-between.

The culture here is certainly authentic as hardly anyone speaks English!

In Bodrum and Marmaris everyone was super friendly and excellent Sales people. They all insist on
A: knowing where you are from
B: What your name is , and
C: Shaking your hand while dragging you to their product. To be fair allot of them are really sweet and fun and didn't mind us ignoring them too much.

Going Further North to Alicati and Cesme was a welcome relief. More people speak a bit of English; no sales people, and loads of charming places to see.
The wind conditions and bays are perfect too - when the wind is up and we are both having a great time.

On the cultural side B insists on visiting most major attractions and archaeological sites ( Wonders of the World! - I do Wonder why they are though - with museums looking like they house the arms and limbs of the torsos at the other museums!)

B spent a great day at Pamukkale where you can see Calcium Deposits that have formed pools over centuries.

We saw the incredible tombs built into the mountains by the Ilicians along the Dalyan River in Kounos.

Together we drove around the ancient town of Ephesus in Selcuk.

We spent a day around the bay and town of Alacati, which is a charming old town lined with cobble-stones and pastel coloured houses and boutique shops. It is renowned for its Windsurfing and Kiting culture. We had a an amazing day here and will be spending more time around here.

We miss our doggy Hiro, and all our friends and family.

Love,
The Kramers

Catching up the last week from Athens to Kos to Bodrum

We are starting to settle down and relax - it takes a while and still doing quite a bit of work on the side over the internet.
We plan to stay around Turkeys South and West Sides along the Med where the water is warm, and the towns beautiful.
Looking forward to exploring and relaxing. Tomorrows agenda holds a day trip boat ride around Bodrum with a swim along the way, Come on Weather!

I just finished a great book "Consent to Kill" by Vince Flynn and looking fwd to reading more...

For us both we are starting to realise how long we have been away and get into the groove of how long we still have.

Our car is always a bit of a challenge to maintain neatly packed so that we have clear visibility out the back window but B skills in this regard are way better than mine.

If you are ever in Athens you must go to the Archelogical Museum - its great ( see pics) and we seriously got a concession for over 65yr olds! Scary! Perhaps next time I'll dress up!

Here are some pics of the fantastic time we had with Demos and Xanthi in Athens when we spent the day in Sounion and playing backgammon on the board Demos got me for my B-day (Shot Dood) its made from Olive Wood and plays real nice!

Good to be back, and catchup soon y'all!
